A Week's Worth of Posts in One - What A Bargain!

I have been waiting SO long to make this! It's tomatoes hollowed out and drained then sprinkled with sea salt and oregano and baked for a while THEN you crack an egg or two in each and bake again until the egg is hard enough. Sprinkle with parm and basil and YUM.
Love my little study-girl.
This is from Thursday. I saw a photo someone took of me and it was NOT good, so during Bree's naptime I just threw her in the stroller and walked for two hours. That will have to happen about twenty more times I think, but what was so awesome was that Bree insisted on wearing Carly's "sparkle tip taps" for our walk. So cute!
Then, Friday night was Paul's work Halloween party! Each conference group had a different theme, and Paul's was 80's WWF wrestlers. The guys really went ALL out and I thought they looked awesome - the authenticity level was very high as was the "oh yes I did" factor.
Paul and Chyna. The likeness is disturbing.
This, literally, was my view ALL night. He's really tall and those things kept hitting me in the face so finally I had to take a picture of them...eventually they got popped in hall-brawls which is actually historically accurate since Miss Chyna popped an implant during a match once. YIKES that sounds so painful, right?
Hilarious. They had originally been jell-o but because the room was HOT, they were liquid. I was driving, so I was just kind of tagging along with Paul. I had a couple of party-size Snicker bars - SO GOOD - and then randomly drank a red bull solely out of boredom...and honestly there was nothing for me to do, so I grabbed these, got up on a chair and...
I made my own fun. You can't see Andre's awesome band-aid nipple here, but it was pretty great. The Sheik is actually and Indian Naval officer. We're pretty sure these photos might get him fired or worse...but he took it like a man. Anyway, my face is so awesome here. You can see Paul's arm and I'm totally bummed that Paul was cropped out because his face matched.
Really, me bored out of my mind and running on chocolate and caffeine...it's a lethal combination. I think Andre had like eight of these. My 'costume' btw is supposed to be redneck wrestling fan, but it really reads Trashy Britney, and personally I think I rocked it.
What was funny was that on our way out, Paul was talking trash about some other costumes...and I had to tell him that it was pretty hard to take him seriously with "MAN UP" written in rhinestones across where his butt should be and while he was wearing that crazy wig.
After Carly's last soccer game which I happened to miss due to one very cute and stubborn toddler who refused to wear ANYTHING at all, there was a barbecue. It's a beautiful day, so we had a great time. THIS kid will be the death of me, I swear.
Monkeys!
This is Carly's friend Bella who is in Carly's class. Bella's family eats a lot like ours. Yesterday the class had a Halloween party AND it was cupcake sale day at school and these two girls were the ones who ended up in the nurse's office with sore tummies. Some might say that moderation would be a good choice for them, but I might say that mayyyybe we could learn to celebrate without tons of sugary foods? Hm?

1. What’s the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for you? One time I was flying alone with Carly - I think she was 18 months old - and she saw an ice cream place in the airport as we were on our way to the restroom. She proceeded to throw a GIANT fit and I just kept walking even though people were staring - this was back before I understood that most people know that little kids throw fits and that people rarely judge the parents of said kids unless those parents are also throwing fits. Anyway, a few minutes later, Carly had clean drawers and was calmed down, and we were in line to buy some juice, and an older couple stopped to tell me they thought I'd done a good job right then. It was so nice! Ever since then I've tried to make a point of telling other parents when I think they're doing great - who knew how important that would be to hear?

2. If you are having a hard time going to sleep, what do you do to help yourself?
Luckily, this is rarely a problem for me. =) However, if I'm worried about something I will make a list. Or do yoga if I didn't get enough exercise throughout the day or read if I just need to check out for a while. Sometimes I'll imagine a blank room and make a party in it. =)

3. Name something that makes you wish you were a kid again.
Naptime! I WISH someone would make me go to bed and sleep in the middle of the day!

4. What is something you never believed until you experienced it?
Other than the obvious thing about how much I love my kiddos, it would be how freaking COOL the Grand Canyon is. Or that it would be possible for a marriage to survive an entire YEAR of being apart, or that I could be a size X. Hahah, I sure would like to experience that last one again...I'm on the way! But it takes so much longer than going the other direction. =) =)

5. What can’t you say “no” to? Adventures!

Ha ha the halloween costumes are awesome! Also glad to know I'm not the only one who gets bored at the work parties.

As for the tomatoes - I've never heard of putting the egg in but they make them here filled with mashed potatoes YUM! Egg is probably healthier though :o) Speaking of health, I hear ya on the sugar thing. My kids had tummy aches too after the school and embassy parties on Friday.
