Oatmeal and Hiking

Katherine Claire and her oatmeal. Do not come between them, or you're likely to get stabbed. That is a no-nonsense face right there.

After we were all sufficiently fueled for the day's adventure, we went out to the Rancocas Nature Center for their Winter Safari walk. We brought along a Girl Scout friend (remember what I said about anemic participation?!) and we just had a great time. It was mostly me and Katie hanging out at the end of the pack, but exploring is sooooo good for littles, and she was soooo adorable laughing at the leaves and brambles that kept sticking in her hair...it was a great day!

 

 

Today, it is quite freezing and windy so we're inside being lazy and watching a Doctor Who spinoff. Actually right NOW, we're wrapping up quiet time. Katie was beyond cranky and we all needed a nap and a break from one another's company. It's Happy New Year's Eve tonight! Super excited to turn the page from this year...we've had some great times, but also some hard, heartbreaking, chaotic and just hard, hard, hard times, too. I'll not be so super sad to see the date change over, especially since the best parts of 2014 were a new sister-in-law, a new baby nephew and my own sister moving closer...and those things are things we get to hang on to. =)
