The stepdad of one of the girls in our troop is headed home from Afghanistan in a few weeks so our Brownies worked together and made him a welcome home banner. It was sweet for the girl whose stepdad it is and a great reminder for my girl that even though long work stinks when it starts, you get to look forward to a really happy time when it's over. She's been able to see at least two dads in her classroom come home this year and I think it's giving her some good perspective about how long work doesn't last forever.
