Not All Who Wander Are Lost

It was 65 degrees today with brilliant sunshine and since I have this weird genetic disorder that makes it physically impossible for me to stay inside on days like this, I took the girls up the road (it's literally five miles away) to the Prince William National Forest. We hiked for three entire hours and now we're happily exhausted and all sniffly and coughing....and we can't wait to go back! Lucky for us, it is National Parks week, so we got in free! Yay! Our moving schedule may be experiencing a little turbulence (I'm not going to get into it - just imagine my joy at yet more uncertainty) so there may very well be some camping in our future. With showers and flush toilets and cabins if Paul's out of town.
Carly 'rescued' this teensy little inchworm from where it had falled upside-down on a dead leaf. She was enraptured and named it Greenleaves (all her choice) and then decided later that she couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl so in case it's a girl, the worm's name is Violet.

Then we came across this tree...from the other side it looks totally normal and then you walk around to find that it is rotting from the inside out. Totally bizarre!

There's always room for D-R-A-M-A. =)

How could you not love these faces? I swear to you I'm the luckiest mama in the world.

LOVE the photos.... but I have to say one thing. Either it's really humid there, or you need to clean your lens. It looks smudged. :) I love you still....
