Basketball and Other Things

It's not the same day, but it is the elephant dress. Bree loves it! We were waiting a few minutes to pick up Paul from the airport before their last basketball game of the season...sweet girl!

Carly was so excited to get Miss Monkey over a weekend! Her heart headband was a Valentine's gift and she wears it just about every day. She gets away with hair decorations on basketball days only because she swears it keeps the hair out of her eyes. Daddy put the kibash (sp?) on bows before the first practice, so a fancy girl has to do what a fancy girl has to do.

The next few photos are of the last game of the season! Thankfully, we don't keep score, because that allowed us as parents to celebrate how far our kids have come as individuals over the season.

For the next two photos, please note where the ball is most likely to be. Then take a moment to notice where Carly's attention is focused. (Here's a hint: it's in the opposite direction from the ball.)

Bree liked the 'dancey dance' girls the best and was getting down with them all during the second half.

Coach Fish! LOVE him!

I made cupcakes for the team party...and I made special no-gluten chocolate ones that tasted like dirt (no one else noticed) for Carly. The baked cupcakes weren't actually all that bad, but the smell of the batter was just OFF somehow - so gross.

The ONLY thing I could get away with was the decorated cupcakes and yellow napkins. No banners, no posters with the kids' names on stars, no table cloths, no streamers or balloons. NOTHING. You can imagine my disappointment. =) But this was their show and neither Paul nor Carly was into the idea of a big color-coordinated bash, so I went along with it. (Party poopers!)

Then Sunday after church and after I battled the crowds at Wegman's (note to self, never again at 3pm Sunday - what was I thinking???) the weather was still warm enough for us to go outside. The girls took a sweet forever to get dressed but it was worth it for our fun times at the park.

Then tonight! First, let me tell you that the first thing I do when we move into whatever house we move into is to get MORE STORAGE. The toy clutter is about to drive me insane. Okay, now to the photo - part of Carly's homework was to do as many jumping jacks as she could in one minute. She did 57. Bree did 10.

And then she (Bree) got really sad and pathetic and was just too cute for me to not take a photo.
