I've experienced a couple of seasons in my life. No, literally, for most of my life, I experienced The Hot Weather which was usually followed immediately by The Cold Weather. When we were in Louisiana, we had The Hot Weather, followed by The Betcha Didn't Think It Could Get Hotter weather, which was followed by the Cold, Wet and Miserable weather.
California only has one season: Sunny and Perfect. And Montana has two seasons: Pretty and Freezing. Sometimes they skip the "and." =)
But here! Oh my word! We have had the most beautiful several weeks! It's cooler, but hasn't been too terribly cold (yet) and the leaves are truly amazing. I've never seen anything like it. These are about a quarter of the gorgeous rainbow of leaves we found on our walk through the woods the other day.
Before we left - here's Sk8tr Grrrrl Bree with her emo skinny jeans and leopard print hoodie (it has ears on top!!!). She was wearing grungy shoes, but the cuteness almost did me in anyway.
Two things about Carly:
1) She's making a Daddy Face, complete with the hand gesture. It drives me nuts when he does it but it's too funny on her little face.
2) She's a snuggle bug and this cozy velour outfit is perfect on her. YOU try not hugging your little kid every two minutes when they're bundled up like that! It's completely impossible.
And again, Bree. That outfit slays me.
So, la-dee-da, we're walking through the woods, then...
What the heck is THAT thing?! And even more alarming - what is the RED BOX FOR?!?! Yikes.
Well, we haven't sprouted any extra limbs or started glowing or anything so I guess it was okay that I let them hang out and dance on these random concrete* slabs...
Dancing queens. LOVE Bree's total abandon. She asks me almost every day if she's three yet so she can go to "Dance A Breena School." =)

*It's interesting that I should mention concrete, since I have stayed up baking loaf after loaf of truly disastrous banana bread that happens to be the exact color, consistency and weight of said paving element. NOT GOOD. Especially since I have a couple of people coming over in, um, five hours, for coffee and banana bread. Not banana bricks, banana BREAD. Thank heaven there's a Dunkin Donuts less than a mile from the gate. In addition to not letting me become Crazy Micromanaging Psycho Wife, please, someone, remind me not to ever freeze bananas again. What a terrible idea.

oh no about your bread.. i use frozen bananas every time for my banana bread and they turn out great...

That last photo of Carly is pretty awesome. But what's with the NOT freezing bananas idea? I do it all the time and it works out great for banana bread, smoothies, oatmeal... Perhaps a recipe revision is in order. Do you want mine?

I freeze my bananas for banana bread, too. Like the previous poster, it turns out just fine. Besides, banana ice cream (frozen bananas with a wee bit of cream all mashed together) is out.of.this.world.gooooooooodddd.
