Carly

Carly gets up early on my gym days and comes to hang out with my while I'm making my coffee, empying the dishwasher, making her lunch, etc., before Paul and Bree are awake. She sits at the table and draws intricate pictures of princesses and gardens and we talk about stuff.

The other day, she asked me how many times we're going to move. Of course I don't know that exact answer but we did talk a little bit about how cool it is here, and how if we hadn't moved to Quantico she wouldn't have met her friend Sophia or gotten to go to her great school that she loves. I told her all the upbeat positive things that I tell myself, like how it's a fun adventure and we get to see new places, all of that, but she wasn't buying it and she told me that she is so over moving. She's used that phrase, "over it" a couple of times, but I still think it's so funny coming from a five year old.

Anyway, I said that sometimes I would like to stay in the same place, too, but it's actually a really super awesome life that we have. Still totally unconvinced, she goes, "Mom, we need a new life. One that doesn't have so many houses in it."

Over the days since then, we've talked a lot about how no matter where we live, the four of us are a team and THAT will never change. She's still looking at me like, "Yeah that's great, but..." and I'm hoping that changes sometime because our moving from place to place isn't going to.

Aw poor baby Carly. Thank goodness my kids like the moving. They've been asking me every other day when they can go to New Orleans. Of course they are a bit confused and keep thinking Carly will be there. Hmmm, we may be in for a serious disappointment!
