What's Going On With Us

This is a photo of Carly when she was exactly Bree's age today. We lived in New Orleans and did fun stuff ALL the time. Haha, who's having an attack of Mommy Guilt this morning? =)

Nothing too crazy is going on, don't worry! We are trying to figure out which of two situations is best for our baptism in a few weeks. We did decide that we'll pick the best neighborhood/commute/school combination we can find and when Paul checks in we will also put our name on the housing list. That way, we have an 'out' if the commute is too bad or the school isn't that great or we're all going nuts being too far from anything. Then...if the school isn't enough to keep us where we are, Carly will probably go to the Catholic school and I'll supplement at home. It's weird that we won't know until we know, but both Paul and I feel a lot better knowing that we'll have a chance to get the lay of the land before we commit to a place for three years. We neither one of us are thinking that homeschool is the best option for our little social butterfly, and I'm fully aware of the fact that I myself am making this entire thing MUCH more difficult than it really needs to be. It is a testament to how thoughtful and patient my friends are that nobody has pointed this out to me. =)

In about 5 minutes I'm headed up to help out at a tax clinic in Alexandria (LOVE that place) and then when I get back I think the kiddos and I are going back up to DC by train probably because they love it, to check out the indoor botanical gardens and probably the Air and Space Museum. It is supposed to be the Cherry Blossom Festival this weekend but it's, um, 35 degrees and cloudy. Predicting snow! NOT fun!!! The crazy weather aside, I really love this area. Seasons are amazing, so beautiful.

On another note, my 'work' is going really well and I love it! It is also incredibly difficult for me to have Bree in childcare all the time. I don't really fit in with the people in my 'hood because they all stay home, but I'm not working FULL time, so I'm a little in between. But it IS nice to feel like I'm bringing something aside from my *stellar* management skillz to the financial table.....and it would really help if the contractor I work for would actually, you know, pay me. =) Haha. Okay! Off to change the financial lives of a few of our marginalized citizens (cue Superman music) yay!
