I took my camera to swim lessons today because there a water slide there that I let Bree play on while we were waiting for Carly. It has three slides, and little pool on the side, it looked totally awesome and Bree had a GREAT time. The downside - and the reason there are no photos - is that at the end of the one slide she could climb up and slide down on her own was the little wading pool area and the part where the kids come off the slide is up to Bree's chest if she's sitting still, nevermind flying down a slide. Hello heart attack.
Needless to say, I spent most of that half hour standing in catcher-stance in the middle of the water, getting my cute capri jeans totally soaked so I could yank my little daredevil out when she managed to get totally upside down and under that way-too-deep water...which happened every time. She thought it was GREAT and AWESOME! Yeah...we're totally not ever doing that again.
Carly had the most awesome day ever, and she's totally exhausted, lying on the couch watching Cinderella. We checked it out from the library! Amazing that they had that. And am I the only person in the world who didn't know you can check out art from the library?! That is so cool!
Okay...now can I tell you about my yard? A little? You probably know by now that the crabgrass killer did a whole lot of nothing in the way of killing crabgrass. It DID kill a big circle of regular grass, though, so that was super. Then Paul goes out there on Sunday and picks a patch of extra crispy grass, declares it to be all weeds, and proceeds to use our three-pronged rake thing to break up the "weeds" and turn over the soil. Which he then sprays with weed and grass killer. Onto which he then sprinkles grass seed and we don't water because neither one of us are very smart people. Honestly. You would think that since we kept a couple of children alive for going on five years...they seem to be growing....that it wouldn't be so darn impossible to make grass grow. But y'all. It IS. It so is. We are totally hopeless in the horticulture department.
He's out of town for a couple of days and I'm going to try and do something about that patch of sad dirt in the middle of the yard. I'm about three seconds away from spray painting the rest of the yard the green it SHOULD BE and just sticking pink flamingos in the bare spots. No one will notice, right? I mean...right?
And finally, if you and I have been anywhere near a large group of children's books then I have probably annoyed you with my LOVE of the Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems. As early reader books, they don't get much better. They are just so stinking funny! With the little conversation bubbles and the emotions...love and love.

How well does Bree swim? I can tell Maggie wants to play in that area so badly, but I don't want to have to worry about my daredevil. I think we are going to try the peekaboo area tomorrow.
We went back to the library tonight, and I got two Elephant and Piggie books! Savannah had other plans, but I was able to sneak those two in. I can't wait to read them with her. They look sooooo cute.
She is super excited about her all-day-playdate with ya'll tomorrow. Too bad I'm going to be in an awful, boring, long, all-day meeting - boo! Have fun and I'll see you bright & early!
