Due to a number of annoying circumstances and events, we did not go to the zoo today. What did happen was that we went to the mall, the girls got pretzels, and I had a long and informative conversation about knives with the manager of Williams-Sonoma. It was fabulous.
I held all of them and found my absolute favorite...which of course is way to the WAY out of my price range. But the other brand that everyone I know swears by has a handle that feels similar in the hand...so that would work if I decide that Wusthof has the blade I want. Which metal do I prefer? Is a weighty feel important to me? Do I care about how it looks? It's a pretty fun dilemma, I'll tell you that much.
After Bree woke up from her nap, we went to Sur La Table to see their knives. The guy just went on and on about the one brand nobody has said a thing about, so I held it and y'all, you're going to laugh at me, but when I got to cut up a potato they had out there for demonstration - it brought me to tears. I know it's so silly. I'm sure it will be the same thing when I come home with whatever set I finally decide on, too, and my family will probably never get to eat a whole piece of fruit or vegetable for a really, really long time. =)

This is what I did while Bree napped...I pulled out an entire trashcan's worth of clover and weeds from our yard. Fun times! =)
And THIS is Bree, right at the end of her working out with me. It's pretty cute. =)
