Happy Anniversary to Us!

Well...it's been five years.

We're laughing at ourselves because Paul just walked in the door a few minutes ago and now he's having our traditional anniversary dinner* while watching baseball and I'm sitting here next to him reading Perez Hilton (not right NOW...but a second ago). We're definitely an old married couple tonight. =)

It's been another beautiful day! Bree walked two entire blocks this morning, just sort of meandering down the road while I walked right beside her and kept a lookout for cars. We also pulled out all of Carly's 18-month stuff and that was so fun! I still remember where I got everything and it's a little hard to believe that it's already time for someone else to rock the glittery green cords and the little denim Gymboree romper Carly wore to Aunt Louise's birthday party in 2007.

*We have pasta with tuna and Italian herbs and LOTS of crushed red peppers as a tradition because we used to have it all the time when we were first married and living in our tiny little love nest. We had an Ikea couch (the smallest one) a bookshelf and a TV on a stand. Nothing on the walls, no lamps or window coverings...that was it and I swear to you that no two people ever loved a sparse little apartment as much as we did. And while we don't necessarily want to return to having hole-y carpet and a kitchen too small for two people, it's still sweet to look back and remember those days.

Paul is switching back and forth between baseball and The Office re-runs. I'm getting whiplash! He also has been giving me the hardest time about Twilight and he suggested I go check out some Anne Rice books for some grownup vampire stories. I keep trying to tell him that it's the love story, not the undead element that is so addictive about Twilight, but I'm reading Anne Rice anyway...I didn't even know that her stories had the New Orleans connection, so that should be interesting. We'll see.

After hearing all of you talking about the twilight I finally decided to read the first book now I am half way the second but I am not that much into it...the love triangle I think is too much for me

Anne's stories are linked to NOLA, Destin and she used to live in San Diego!

FYI - Don't read the sleeping beauty series. It's not the same kind of Anne Rice.
