Well, I think the camera is toast.
It's really too bad because we have a very fun week coming up!
One of my friends from high school is coming to New Orleans for a wedding Saturday, but she's flying in early (tomorrow!) to spend a few days with us! The last time I saw Erin, I was six months pregnant with CARLY, so it's been a minute.
Then Paul's brother and his fiancee are coming to New Orleans on Thursday. Paul's joining them that night for what it sure to be a memorable evening. From that point, the plans get a little fuzzy...there is talk of sleeping out at the tailgating site, and there could be some really great stories from that...even though spending an entire sweaty night swatting mosquitos and chasing off squatters doesn't sound like that much fun to ME, boys have a different perspective on those kinds of things. Carly has a soccer game at 10 on Saturday, so maybe we'll do a little donut intervention and check on our fearless campers on our way. At least we'll drop off clean shirts and a new can of Off! Paul is really excited about this upcoming weekend - he actually sent a text message to his entire phone list inviting them down for the weekend. So far we don't have any confirmed reservations, but I have a couple of air mattresses on stand-by just in case!
We got to spend yesterday afternoon watching the Saints with Paul's boss and his wife...it was really fun and we're totally grateful to our awesome mommy-sitter Allison and her little girl Savannah. Savannah is almost exactly in between my girls in age and it makes it really easy to watch them all together. We picked up Savannah from her preschool this afternoon and Carly took her hand and asked her all about her day. Then when we got home, Savannah took Bree's hand and walked her into the living room asking about her day. It was the cutest! It seems like the very most adorable things happen when I can't document them!
Okay, it's wind-down time. Carly and Savannah are coloring at the table and Bree is coloring at the easel...Carly's humming the Marine Corps Hymn because she doesn't know all the words (yet!). The house is a complete disaster, mostly due to the giant, three-room fort we have stretching from the dining room table into the living room that is populated by all of our stuffed animals (ALL OF THEM)...but what a fun mess! Okay, now it's time to inspect the art! =)
