Dilemma, Day 2

In the continuing saga of the great big important decisions I have to make, Paul just told me that whatever the equivalent of a guy in khakis and a blazer (no tie) or a shirt and tie (no jacket) is for a girl, that's what I should wear on Monday night.

Which is basically NOT any of the adorable stuff I bought yesterday. What a shame, I have to go shopping again. Sorry, Banana Republic. The challenge here is going to be actually taking back all of the things I bought yesterday. My ego and I are in agreement that the gray slacks in the smaller size should stay, even though they were not as discounted as those cute khakis, but practicality maya win that one. Whatever happens, that ruffly plaid shirt is definitely not going back.

I'm actually kind of relieved that him being in blues and us being in a fancy suite means that the standard uniform for a Marine Officer's Wife of a twinset, pearls and flats (yaaaawwwn) is out of the running.

In more interesting news, the girls and I are going trick or treating at LSU tonight. I've picked up a few cute, inexpensive toys and a couple of books for Carly to 'buy' with her candy. Let's see how well that works! I'm all about kids being kids, but I don't really think that 'being a kid' has to involve being filthy all the time and/or eating lots of sugar and crappy processed foods. I'm just saying.

Tom always told me that blues were comparable to a Tux - which would equate to a gown. Highly inappropriate for a football game!
