The Kit Kats Are For Mommy

That's the rule. Daddy gets anything that is chocolate+peanut butter and Mommy gets the KitKats, end of discussion. Carly kept coming up with different ways for her to get some of the KK action, but it just isn't going to happen. I told her when she's the mommy, she gets to have the KitKats, but for now, they're mine. It's like that one comic strip when the mom always eats the ears off the chocolate bunnies on Easter....except I'm not sneaky about it. =)

My BIG girl helped out with dinner yesterday! She loves helping prepare our meals, especially when it's fun stuff like roll-up pizzas. I know I'm biased, but I think she's just so stinking cute.

Focus, focus focus. After the cheese, we sprinkled on spinach, shredded carrots and black olives, then rolled the whole thing up lengthwise and cut it like cinnamon rolls. It was really ugly, but SO good when it was done!

This is Carly's haul from the LSU Sorority Row trick or treating tonight. I forgot my camera, but I'm sure you can remember the kids' costumes! Haha...they were both SO good and Carly was fearless about getting some candy! She knew all day long that she was going to trade in her candy for awesome toys, so it didn't come as a surprise when she got to choose the toy and then count out the appropriate candy 'price.'

Wooo! $35 worth of toys for $1.50 worth of high fructose corn syrup and artificial coloring!!! That's a pretty sweet deal! I think I'm going to have to raise my candy prices next year when I have two little princesses to bribe, though! Seriously! Maybe I'll include tokens for fun trips to the mall or something. I took a gamble with those Littlest Pet Shop animals but Carly la-la-la-LOVES them and how adorable are those little monster stickers? I really was a little concerned that Carly wouldn't go for the trading thing when it came down to it, or that there would be some tears or being sad...

But...it was a SUCCESS! She happily traded in every lollipop, Skittle and Tootsie Roll for her new swag. I guess I could have earned Supermom Level 10 if I'd made the prizes books and not plastic toys, but I'll settle for what we got. So now her teeth won't rot out of her head AND we got to talk about how things that last a long time, like awesome toys, are better than things that only last a few minutes...yay for dental health and 'teaching moments.' =)

First, um HELLO, why didn't you mention this fantabulous idea to me on the phone today? Wonder if I can get my kids to buy it... or my husband!? And in my house, mommy gets the snickers! Best part is they've never had a snickers so they have no idea what they are giving up, nor do they care. Yeah me or boo me for the belly fat on it's way.

I love KitKats too...but whenever I see them I always think of my college roommate - she HATED them, and it would make her sick when I would eat them. They use to be her "reward" when she was little...for taking her enema like a good girl!!! HAHAHAHA!!! :)

I love your candy swap idea! How does it work exactly??? Please fill in the not so creative minds (aka - me)!! :)
