I have to confess that I am having a terrible attitude about the weather. I don't mind as much being hot and sweaty during the summertime when it's supposed to be hot and sweaty, but dealing with a 96-degree heat index on the last weekend of September is a little much. We don't have any fall flowers or (doomed) veggies planted or any fall decorations out yet...my brain just isn't believing that it's not July. Hopefully it will cool off soon!

The girls and I went for the last half of the family day Paul's unit put on at a really nice park here (Drusila Park for BR folks). It was super fun!
Please pay no attention to the horribly out of shape Marine at bat - he was recovering from getting hit in the shoulder by the pitcher. Paul led his team to a stunning 4-3 loss against the Lafayette recruiting station. It was so fun to see the softball tournament, though!

Bree had a great time trying on Daddy's sunglasses while Carly played the balloon toss.

Then, while Carly bounced on the three jumpies they had there and Paul played softball and basketball, Bree went and made some new friends. She really liked this Marine...he was brave enough to let her try on his expensive sunglasses and she kept going back to flirt with him and tap on his knee brace.

And then she emptied out the diaper bag...but she was just so cute doing it. =)

The Bow was great - I could sit and chat by the softball field and keep an eye on that giant bow...as long as it was bobbing up and down I knew she was okay. But, an hour of uninterrupted jumping in 93-degree heat (I know I sound like a broken record with the temperature...you were warned! I'm probably going to keep whining about it until we're in the 70's.) plus no water equals an unhappy Carly. She perked up after a bottle of water, though and then she was excited to tell me all about the new friends she met.
