And Then, And Then...

The original plan was to use the TomTom to find the playground at Audubon...
And look at that! It was right where Daddy said it was! We got there around 9:30 and it was already a tiny bit steamy (from a SoCal perspective, it's HOT), but it did cool off quite a bit when it was overcast...and the shade is really nice! But Carly couldn't have cared less about the temperature - she was just so "bah-sigh-ged" to go climb around on stuff.
One happy climber

She climbed up these crazy stairs all by herself!

And then she got a little scared about going down the caterpillar ladder.

And then it got kinda hot, so we took a walk. Carly has a hard time walking when there are stripes - she does prefer to RUN. (Look how beautiful it is there!)

And then we found another playground!

And then we stopped to smell the flowers

And then we took a break - sweaty little Carly needed to drink some water and sing ALL her songs.

And then we saw a turtle! But Blogger didn't feel like posting the photo - Carly got to touch the turtle's shell and then she got to wash her hands with sanitizer about five times in a row.

And then we fed some ducks! The ducks weren't super hungry this morning - I think they were a little too warm for snacking.

And then Mommy decided that today would be a great time to follow Miss Christie's suggestion to try out the Camillia Grille at the end of St. Charles (the same street the park is on)...this is part of the Loyola campus - so pretty! The walk was pretty long, like a mile, and Carly spent about half of it "like a koala bear" on Mommy's back.

And then we met Mr. Michael, our waiter at the Grille. This is a cute little diner where everyone sits along the marble countertop. They have simple diner food for less than you'd expect to pay in the shi-shi Uptown district of New Orleans. Plus the guys that work there are really friendly and nice. They refer to everything as "befoah the stahm" or "aftah the stahm" (before or after Katrina)...we had such a good lunch and then Carly got some extra bubbly juice!

And then we took the choo-choo trolley back to the park...and there is a sign that says to exit out the back, which we did, but the driver stopped the trolley to fuss at me for not going out the front door...I wish we could have gotten a photo of that!

And then we went back to the car and home! Carly fell asleep before I was finished reading her book!
