Pics From This Afternoon

This morning we went to the mall in Metairie, which is a lot like the one in Oceanside, except in place of the O-side's Children's Place, Chicano Style and StreetWearz, they have a J.Crew, a Coach store and Williams Sonoma, among others. We just had to get out of the house!
*
You can see in the background the last day for the tulips that one of our neighbors brought us. Our kitchen is small, but cozy.
Silly Carly and Daddy taking a look at the icky cold rainy weather from our front window. We didn't get a new car; we share a driveway with two other families and we're really happy to be the end house.
Messy face =)
After Carly's supershort nap, she asked to go play in her "new new room."
So we broke out the Thomas Numbers game that she got from Andy, The Baby Matt and Wia for Christmas.
It's such a cute game! The pieces fit in according to how many wheels are on each section and it adds up to the number at the end of the engine. I know that probably makes no sense, but it helps Carly with her spacial judgement and with counting. We still have a ways to go on that because she gets really mad if anyone tries to make her say "one" before "two." I think she thinks the "one" is assumed.
Then some coloring in her preschool book. This, too, is still a tiny bit ahead of her, but with lots of help from Mom and Dad, she got the matching part and had a good time coloring.
Ohhh this is better...see the shiny cheeks? We had a minor meltdown when the pink crayon broke.

Carly isn't feeling very well today. She has a pretty bad cough that doesn't seem to respond to her normal nighttime coughing medicine, so we'll see how she's doing tomorrow before we decide on whether to visit the two family-friendly Mardi Gras festivals tomorrow. Normally (as in, In California) we'd just wrap her up super warm and toss her in the jo-joes, but it's damp here and we want to be extra careful. Poor little thing! Either way, we'll put up some photos - please stop yelling at me. =)

Liz - it looks like things are going great for you guys! Why is it that you will only be there for 6 months? Is Paul going to school for what he has to do next? Your place looks cute - and I'm sure you are making it a comfy little home! Glad you are doing so well already!! Steph :) Oh - and yes, you can link my blog! :)
