We're fine and haven't heard anything about evacuation. We have some friends who are being moved for the time being and our relatives in Poway had to leave their home, but we're so far west that I don't anticipate our being asked to leave.
This morning, we went out to Marina's house, but we came right home. This is the smoke cloud as it appeared at 8am on base.

In Vista, it's bigger. The biggest fire - the San Pasqual and Witch fires have merged - is about twenty miles away from Marina's house. There is a smaller fire in San Marcos but as of right now, it's 40% contained.

Another shot on our way back home. There isn't any ash at our house and it doesnt smell like smoke but I cannot breathe! It's crazy. If anything changes, I'll let you know, but for right now we're just thinking about our neighbors to the east.

woa thats crazy. get some air filters for your house asap. its like breathing a carton of cigs every hour and if you are having trouble carly must be 20 times worse.

Katherine, too much. lol. (But she really does know after working in MT all summer.)
Yes, your fires are really bad. I hope the wind quits soon.
