Our Saturday

First, we met our friends Kalyn and Paisley for breakfast in Carlsbad...here is the fabulous Carly Fischer with her sunglasses on upside-down!
And when she figured out who just walked in the door!!!
It's Peace-Peace!!! We are big huge fans of Paisley's swirly hair. She was a big huge fan of the menu.
After our breakfast...little money monsters in training!....PS - if you get Kalyn's emails, the rest of this post will probably look familiar since I lifted all these photos from her Kodak gallery. =)
Warning to my mom: don't read any further!
Kalyn DRAGGED me to Wal-Mart. It was the first time I'd set foot in one for almost two years, and I was a little afraid I might spontaneously combust when I crossed the threshold...see, even Carly was wary! Or it might have been the cheap-o baskets that don't even have snap-down seats...I don't know.
Well, the seat may not snap down, but at least the handle is clean.
And then it was time for one more hug before we ventured into the store.
Carly has about eight million hair bows and clips, and Mommy's next project is to make a cute place to keep them instead of in the bathroom drawer...these wooden cutouts are like three dollars less than at Michael's...but I swear I'm going to have nightmares about that ominous smiley face looming over my head.
Whew - we made it!!!
So after the great bargain adventure, we headed back to the Kavanaugh house to do a little photo shoot. We found these dresses for next to nothing and we even found big flowers to match.
This is Carly giving Paisley a kiss after P bumped her head. Right before this photo was taken, my little girl was laying face down on the floor crying, so this is an improvement.
We decided outside might work better. Paul will be proud to note that his girl is already showing some impressive definition of the calf muscles.
Skittles!
Their dresses looked sooo pretty against the green grass, but it had been sprinkling all day and they were so not interested in being cold and wet. The play structure was way more interesting.
This is my favorite picture ever taken of Carly. Thanks, Kalyn!!!
Okay, about two weeks ago, Carly and I saw a little green worm on the sidewalk while we were walking to Andy's house and ever since then, she's had a thing for "weerms." We really wanted to get at least ONE photo of the girls ON the grass, so we said there was a worm RIGHT THERE.
Then, when that didn't work, we told Carly there was a worm on her flower.
Paisley: listen, y'all, there's no worm on my fow-fow, so me and the fow-fow are going upstairs.
My little model complete with the mean face.
She really didn't want to hold the "wowah" anymore and she did NOT want me to take it. "Kaynin take it!" She was pretty insistant. Carly l-o-v-e-s Kalyn. She's never responded like that to any of my friends, so it's really fun! We got in the car to leave and Carly said "Kaynin back? Peace-Peace back?" So sweet! We love you guys!

OMG those pictures are priceless...

Did the dresses come from the Big W? Because if so it was TOTALLY WORTH it.
