Turkey Day Pics - Part 1

Let's eat!
What IS this?
(it's the big piece of turkey we put on her plate to cut up!) Am I supposed to just eat it?

Our Website Broke...

The website keeps loading a little red x in place of a picture. We'll try again later!

And just in case you're wondering (or just starving for news of the Fabulous Fischers) we put up the lights and they are GREAT. We have a 42-inch sparkling star on our front fence! Carly and I are going to put up the tree while Paul's in the field so it will be all ready for our Christmas when he gets back on Thursday.

.....and....Carly has another new word! She says "trashcan" then makes a yucky face and says "no-no!" We made little nametags for all the stuff around the house, like the stove, highchair, all the doors and where they lead...it's so funny to watch her bouncing around from one to the other to get me to tell her what they say.

New Words!

Hi everybody! We'll have our Thanksgiving post up this afternoon, but in the meantime, Carly wanted you to know that she has a couple of new words....

She can say "good girl" which comes out "guh-gur." It's SO sweet. Her Mom-Mom taught her that one. And she can say "walk" which is "gock." For example, we're getting out of the car to go to Target for the third time in two days and I say, "Carly, would you like to walk to the door?" She laughs and says "gock? gock!!!" and dives out of my arms. It's so cute!

The Park

You know my girl loves a good park - lucky for her, there's one right down the road. This is the park where Daddy used to come and get in lots of trouble when he was little.
Trying to figure out why there are no leaves on the trees
Yucky, Mommy! Why is it all brown?
Going down the slide!
Taking a walk with Grandpop in the front yard

Pretty baby!
It is SO COLD here! Okay, it's 40 degrees, but that's REALLY cold to us!

GiGi and Great-Grandpop

This is a foam ball shaped like an orange...Carly is trying to eat it.
"Yucky!"

Hanging out Monday Night

Excuse me, I have some calls to make
Thug style
Carly and her cell phone. She loves it!

Pics from 11/15

Carly loves to play with our water bottles.
And she likes to drink from them. Usually, it's no problem...
But sometimes she gets a little too much!
Whoa, that was a surprise.
But it's funny!
Blowing water raspberries
I'm soaking wet and you're laughing at me! It's not funny!
Okay...yes it is! And look, I'm coughing!

Paul had the day off, so we went to the beach!
Here's Carly in her favorite spot.
Walking with Daddy
Going down the slide like a big girl!
Daddy! What are you doing up there??
Why is Daddy pushing me down the slide with his big feet?
Swing me higher, Daddy!
This - Is - Awesome!!!!
Can you see me?
Peek-a-boo!
Carly's not a fan of walking in sand...but she's just so cute.
Getting ready to go down the big slide
This is a happy face, I promise!
Sleepy baby headed back to the blanket
Yummeeeee
Paul making his best bubba Gump face reading on the beach!

Parker, Arizona

There is a whole lot of absolutely nothing going on in Parker.
Except for a triathlon and a rodea and a parade - all in the same weekend!
The town of 1,200 is located right on the desert border of Arizona and California. The Colorado River runs a couple of miles away and some people live in pretty cute houses along the river basin...but for the most part...
The Parker Dam. It is about 17 miles from Parker and was the halfway point of Paul's bike portion of the race. For as desolate as this place is, the colors are really nice.
Like the vibrant, creepy turquoise of the water...
The view down the river toward Parker.

Veteran's Day Parade

Not too many people attended the Veteran's Day Parade, because most of the residents of Parker were IN the parade. Between the thirty-five beauty queens and kings (I'm not exaggerating) and all the folks running for tribal council and their families throwing candy, there weren't many people left to be spectators...as shown below!
The Veteran's Day Sunday was always my favorite, because we'd play all the service branch anthems and all the veterans would wear their uniforms. At the moment this photo was taken, the high school marching band broke into the Marine Corps Hymn...I wished my super-patriotic friend Steph was there so I wouldn't be the only person in tears on the side of the road!

They were the cutest!

The town Marine Corps Colonel
This one's for my dad.
Okay, this little girl was in one of the six different cheerleader squads (again, no exaggeration - there's just not much to do in good old Parker, AZ). At every opportunity, she'd jump up into the air and shout something! I mean, why walk when you can jump?!
The first of the many, many pageant winners on cars...she waved like a pro and Carly waved right back!
Carly's favorite. "Bah-yooooon!"
....and this one is for Jen.
