Veteran's Day Parade

Not too many people attended the Veteran's Day Parade, because most of the residents of Parker were IN the parade. Between the thirty-five beauty queens and kings (I'm not exaggerating) and all the folks running for tribal council and their families throwing candy, there weren't many people left to be spectators...as shown below!
The Veteran's Day Sunday was always my favorite, because we'd play all the service branch anthems and all the veterans would wear their uniforms. At the moment this photo was taken, the high school marching band broke into the Marine Corps Hymn...I wished my super-patriotic friend Steph was there so I wouldn't be the only person in tears on the side of the road!

They were the cutest!

The town Marine Corps Colonel
This one's for my dad.
Okay, this little girl was in one of the six different cheerleader squads (again, no exaggeration - there's just not much to do in good old Parker, AZ). At every opportunity, she'd jump up into the air and shout something! I mean, why walk when you can jump?!
The first of the many, many pageant winners on cars...she waved like a pro and Carly waved right back!
Carly's favorite. "Bah-yooooon!"
....and this one is for Jen.
