The Zoo!

I'm watching a little girl a couple of days this week and my friend Michelle has two young kids...we decided it would be fun to take all four to the zoo in San Diego. I know that sounds like it should have been crazy, but everything went smoothly. No major meltdowns, no barfing, blowouts or runaway babies...it was great, actually! We enjoyed the 90-degree November weather and were thankful for plenty of shade and not too many people around.

"My" girls hanging out in the stroller. Marina is 19 months old...can you believe all that hair?!
Michelle and Max talking about the flamingo population - Max is 26 months old and he loves this part of the zoo.
Carly was kind of a mess! But she was so cute walking around pointing to everything and chattering.

Carly and me watching the big gorilla have his lunch
Look at those eyes! She's telling me all about the monkeys...still looking a mess, but she's just so cute!
Okay, this picture is kind of (a lot) spooky with Max looking at the camera through his reflection in the glass. But right behind his reflection - it's hard to see - there is the tiny baby monkey. I think they make the glass reflective so camera flashes don't scare the animals...understandble but still annoying when you're trying to get a picture.
About three seconds after this picture was taken, Carly put her hand flat on the glass and the baby monkey did the same thing!
Max, Marina and Carly at the monkey statues. The girls were afraid of the statues and didn't believe us when they told them that the statues were just pretend.
Maggie, however, has absolutely no fear and went around patting all the monkeys.

Four babies and the heffalumps!
Max and his chocolate face.
Maggie was pushing the stroller and then pulling it back and pushing it again! She's hilarious.
Tired baby! Carly and Marina slept the whole way back.
