Tell Me You've Been There

Bree has been whining nonstop since she woke up, and not woke up from her nap, woke up this morning at 6am. It's been meltdown after meltdown about everything under the sun. I'm about to losemyfreakingmind.

So...I'm writing this from the front porch because I literally cannot take it any more. Should I go upstairs (again) and try to comfort her (again) and try to get her to come downstairs to where the food is (because she's huuuuuungry) or where the bandaids are (because her legs, elbows, clavicle and knuckles all mysteriously hurt)? Probably. A "good" mother probably would swallow the frustration monster and make it all better.

I, however, am absolutely human and two more seconds of that incessant crying will probably send me over the edge and flying out a window. So I'm out here enjoying the sunshine and waiting for the tornado to pass inside.

THEN we will go to the post office and retrieve my lovely new-to-me camera.

Maybe she is gearing up for a growth spurt. Hence the pains everywhere and being still cranky after sleeping all night. Sure is hard to grow up! Hope she's back to normal soon. :) And every mommy has been there, and back, and back again....hang in there!

I make them stay in their rooms for a "break" until they can talk to me without throwing a fit, jumping up and down, crying, or using their "outside" voice. It usually gives enough time for both me and them to calm down so it works.

Oh my gosh I am so happy you wrote that and that I'm not the only mom who hides from her kids. Especially when I will a. kill them or b. kill myself. And really, Bree is far too cute for all that anger so it's best to sit outside and ignore the ugly and wait for the cute. Geez I miss you!!!
