So...how do you like my new background? Yes, you three, I'm talking to you. Cute, right?
I chose it for a reason! See...okay, Carly found out that we're handing out pencils and temporary tattoos for Halloween. Guess how excited she was...right. Not very!
She actually told me while we were in the commissary that she wanted to go live with someone else's family because EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD gives away candy on Halloween except for us. I guess when you're five, the presence or absence of candy would actually be a pretty important determining factor when you're considering living conditions. =)
I then told her that most people also eat at Mc Donald's and she got this horrified look on her face and asked if SHE would have to eat there, too. I just sort of shrugged and said I don't know...
and on the way out, scouts honor, that little kid looked over at the Mc D's and sort of shuddered.
Wait okay, and another funny story? I hope you realize that these are funny stories on ME, not on her. She's only dealing with the information she's been given.
So last week, I got my carpool days mixed up and Carly had to go to the aftercare for about six minutes until I could get to school. She thought it was AWESOME and didn't want to leave her cool friends and all the awesome games, but I had a ton of mommy guilt, oh you can't even imagine, so I took Carly and Bree for JoJo's ice cream, which is this little place right by Carly's school that I've heard is super.
So, we're sitting there and the girls are each working on an ice cream cone with sprinkles and Carly sees this guy going into the Pizza Hut next door. She reads the sign and looks at me with, again this horrified look, and says, "MOM. That guy is going to eat FAKE FOOD that is soooo unhealthy!" The irony. Now, to be fair, that Pizza Hut is actually on the more disgusting end of the spectrum, which is saying a lot when you consider how gross Pizza Huts are as a general rule. But still.

HAHA! Poor Carly no sweets :( She can come live with us we eat sweets EVERY night. But we also eat "bad" food :)
I wonder if she will sell her candy for toys this year? :)

At least it is your five your old that razzes you about not giving out candy. My neighbor is handing out granola bars. She told her mom about it and she told your house is going to get egged, Halloween is for candy. Plus, every time they talk now her mom asks if she has gotten any candy yet, then cautions again about the imminent egging. Now, I must say, Khris is from East L.A., so her mom is probably speaking from experience!
