OMG

Carly's nails are drying. She's wearing my new 'organic' nail polish that I got, among many many other delicious and fun things from the Whole Foods body section, with the ridiculously generous giftcard that Amy and Amanda sent me. The name of the nail polish is "Joy" which I think is about perfect to describe our friendship. I'll take a photo of the goods as soon as I can open both eyes and stand up without feeling like my head is two sizes too small. =)

Okay AND...my adorable husband and my incredible friends threw a surprise party for my 30th birthday last night! It was SO AWESOME!!!!!!!

I didn't really think it was going to happen at all because, first of all, NOBODY spilled any beans. And they've been working on this for four months! It helped that I like to be surprised and I intentionally didn't ask questions or try to find out anything. I thought maybe we would just meet a couple of friends at this bar down by LSU when Paul told me that he got free tickets to a place that doesn't have tickets and he made a big deal about not wanting to be around any other people. Then he couldn't stop grinning as we left dinner last night...y'all he was just so cute. =)

I can tell you that I did NOT expect to walk to upstairs to the balcony and find a dozen of my friends and their husbands up there...including our go-to babysitter who showed up at our house in workout shorts, flip flops and no makeup before dinner and secretly got ready there and switched off with another sitter. I did NOT expect a big gorgeous cake in the shape of a 3 and a 0, a huge beautiful banner, two bouquets of handmade peonies and such sweet and thoughtful gifts including one pretty little black scrapbook of notes from so many people...I can't really read more than one or two at a time because I get all emotional.

The rugby team from LSU was celebrating something and they gave me a nice rowdy serenade. We danced and laughed and it was amazing. Pics to follow because I just know you're not like ENOUGH ABOUT YOUR BIRTHDAY ALREADY. Right? =)

Anyway, it was so great and I feel so lucky and blessed. Paul's sleeping his night off right now and I'm still walking around with one eye half shut. The girls are going crazy, so I should probably go sit with them. =)
