So, naturally, going to the farmer's market downtown on Saturdays makes me SO happy! I love seeing friends there and having Carly pick out her favorite basket of bell peppers - she chose the purple ones yesterday. It's so fun to see what new vegetables the farmers have, and to be able to buy "happy" beef, or pork or chicken that was raised out in a pasture eating what the Good Lord Intended (as opposed to weird scientifically generated 'feed' with parts of other animals, corn, hormones, etc. Gross!!!)
We live in the South right now, where Wal-Mart is the predominant place people shop, so I get made fun of, like ALL THE TIME, for my food 'issues.' I don't mind being the lone McDonald's and high fructose corn syrup hater among my friends, because feeding my family well is just really important to me. It makes me feel really good to know that what they're eating is actually fueling their bodies, not just filling them up. It's hard to describe how satisfying that is. =)

If there were a like button on this post, it'd still be insufficient! I love love love this post. Tom laughs at me when I talk to the food as I prepare it. "Ooooh what pretty colors! You look so amazing!" OK, I might have some issues that could be helped by medication, but it's better than talking to people who aren't there, yes?
