1) Bree has a tradition of crying all the way to Carly's school, stopping to smile at the teacher who comes to get Carly, and then crying all the way home. She has done this every day of her life and it still stresses me out. 45 minutes of screaming in an enclosed environment! Not fun.
2) I would recommend The Help and Little Bee and that you read them in that order. The Help is easy to read, and I honestly wanted it to be a little 'meatier' if you know what I mean. For such an intense topic (the relationship between African American maids and their Anglo employers in the South, in the 60's), it read kind of light, but it was definitely entertaining and interesting. Little Bee is written with a different kind of voice, and to be honest, it is brutal. It is hard to read, not because it is written in a confusing way, but because of what happens. I want someone to read both of these so we can talk about the things that are the same in them. Anyone? Anyone...? =)
3) The girls picked up their flower girl dresses yesterday and oh my WORD they are so cute. Carly looks beautiful (and she knows it! haha) and Bree looks like a little doll. We're going to pick up their headbands right this second if the bow lady doesn't bar me from the store because I've been there five hundred times in the last two weeks.
