We had a quiet night in last night and it was just so nice to spend the evening home as a family! Our neighborhood isn't really family-oriented as much as a lot of others around here, so we didn't have any trick-or-treaters come by (and that was good because we have zero candy!). First we carved our pumpkins! We wanted to wait until Paul could be home with us...I think they turned out pretty cute!
Then Carly and I discovered that we can make soft pretzels! That was fun to find out...and we put red peppers on the end to make them look like fingers! The recipe suggested sprinkling rosemary on the shorter pretzels to make them look like toes! It was so creepy and funny! To think that anyone with hairy toes would also have a red nail polish pedicure!! Gross!
Then Carly asked her normal questions about what was going to go on after she went to sleep. I made the HUGE mistake of telling her we were going to watch Night of the Living Dead AND that it was about zombies, so then I had to spend the next twenty minutes making it silly. First I had her make the meanest face she could...
...and then she pretended to eat Daddy's brains. She was laughing and a tiny bit worried when he acted like he passed out! (You can see the giant plate of pretzels in front of Paul...those are GONE today!)
Today is an absolutely beautiful day. The girls and I spent most of this morning outside walking around, cleaning the car, trying to do something with our mess of a yard, avoiding ants and...as you can see here...Bree enjoyed dumping a cup of water on her head. She was a much happier girl when we got her into some dry clothes!
