Bree's Well Baby

We waited on this appointment until our doctor's normal nurse was back. The last time we went, we had a student nurse who took a sweet forever to get all the shots in. This time, it was quick and over. Bree only cried for about thirty seconds afterward.
She's 19 pounds and 8 ounces and 30 inches. Her head and height are at the 50th percentile and her weight is tracking steady at 25.
Here's our little beast trying on her sister's clothes. It's SO cute! Today we were in the store looking for a pair of white shoes - we ended coming home with some pink patent leather Mary Janes that were on sale - and Bree was stepping on all the sandals trying to put them on her little feet. =)

So we had a very successful celebration yesterday, but now I have the baking bug. Some of you may remember the six month period of time after I got my stand mixer (Thanks, Aunt Diane and Uncle Mace!) for our second wedding anniversary, when you could not call my house without hearing the telltale whirring in the background. I'm afraid it might be like that for a while. Paul's out of town, so what else am I going to do?
Anyway, I've been successful in getting rid of almost all of yesterday's cupcakes and once a friend of ours gets the green light on her gestational diabetes test (wait, TWO friends just took that test...awesome!) the rest will be gone. So, we've got fresh strawberry cupcakes on deck and I'm going to try and make a creme fraiche. They do it ALL the time on Top Chef, and since the coulis was soooo not nearly as big a deal as it sounds like, I'm going to cross my fingers that the creme fraiche is the same story. We'll see! I really hope it's easy because I want to make it taste like champagne...doesn't that sound amazing? Strawberries and champagne cupcakes? Yummy!

Hey, since you are back on your baking kick, any chance you could figure out a recipe for the fruit tart from CM? We have become ADDICTED!
