Ober Gatlinburg

After lunch, we drove up the mountain to the Ober Gatlinburg resort. It's cute and cheesy, with an ice skating rink and lots of hand-burned leather wallets and belts, and lots of tie-dyed t-shirts for sale inside the chalet that houses the gondola that goes to the base of the mountain. For the sake of time and parking, we didn't ride the gondola, but this is the view we would have had.
Our sweet little sleepyhead! Her hair and Carly's hair looked so red today!
Behind the chalet there are three ski lifts....one goes all the way to the top, stopping halfway at a super fun alpine slide! I visited friends in this area seven years ago, and we came here but didn't ride the slide - I always wished I had, and it was SO fun. Totally worth the wait, but I have to honest and tell you that it made me a nervous wreck watching Carly's little bitty feet dangling a hundred feet in the air!!!
Grammy and Poppy getting ready to rock it Nordic-style.
Carly had a BLAST. Seriously, it was so fun. Paul was so squished...look at his legs compared to the guy behind him!
After the slide, Carly and Poppy shared some polka dot ice cream (Dippin' Dots)....she was so excited! But no nap for either girl, so they were both in bed at 7:30. We're excited for our river adventure tomorrow!
