Today's Big Ah-benture!

First...here is my first attempt at making a diaper cake! I put it together last night while we were watching The Green Mile. Paul helped by offering lots of encouragement. This is for a baby shower for one of my neighbors (yes, THAT shower) and it's going to have some Winnie The Pooh decorations and stuff when it's all complete because that's what the Mama-to-be chose for her nursery theme. I'm pretty excited about it and it's definitely better than paying someone else a hundred dollars to make one especially since I have the other 150 diapers from the mega pack upstairs waiting for our own little bundle! =)

Okay, back to what this post is supposed to be about...Carly! And her big ahbenture! We went to one of our favorite places in the swamp - Audubon Park - to see the cranes. We stopped off at the playground first, and my little adventurer climbed all over everything.
Then we walked ALL the way around the track - fortunately Mommy (for once!) had the presence of mind to bring the stroller...otherwise we'd be stranded on the Magazine Street side. I am way too big to carry 35 extra pounds on my back, even though they are a very cute 35 pounds.
And here are some cranes! I tried to crop the photo so you could get a better view of the mama crane with her three babies...but really, Picassa (the annoying photo program that Blogger uses) is not cooperating with me. Click on the photo to get a good look...she was feeding them and they were hopping around on their little branch. It was really cute!
Then we found a couple of magnolia leaves and Carly was being silly.
Backstory to this photo: we squished a lizard in the door. It was REALLY gross and it made Carly sad, so we named him Flat Larry and made it into a joke to make Flat Larry poses like a squished lizard. Now, when you say "Flat Larry!," Carly does some vatiation of this:
