Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival

I took - and posted - entirely too many photos. Like this one...with Carly with her finger in her nose....
We won George at the Strawberry Festival, so we thought maybe...
LOOK AT THE HOOP!
Seriously! These people are raking it in. I won't even tell you how much of our money we gave them just so Paul could get Patrick (Spongebob's starfish friend) for Carly.
Sweaty baby - there was a nice breeze every now and then, but it was about five thousand degrees.
On the giraffe! FINALLY Carly could ride a carousel since Daddy was around to help out! Of course she loved it!
Oh my gosh. Okay, there was this giant crawl-around play structure and Paul was trying to crawl in this mini bounce house to help Carly to come down the slide...except the entire thing COLLAPSED under him. It was the funniest thing. He wasn't hurt or anything, but that bounce house didn't go back up again after that!
Recovering from the collapse, and climbing to the tippy top.
Down the slide! Carly liked it - and I'm probably going to have nightmares for the next three weeks about all the germs and dirt she came in contact with. As you can see from the bottom of the slide, maintenance isn't high on the priority list for these folks.
And look! This was officially Carly's very first Tacky But Fun Carnival Ride. It just went around and around and she loved every second!
Yeah, I'll probably have nightmares about this, too.
....and to think I don't let her go in the Chick-Fil-A play structure because of the germs...
We decided to stop for a little snack...Carly got her festival favorite - ice cream with schrinkles!
Literally two minutes later. We moved because there were some people dancing and they were a tiny bit out of control, but there were no chairs, so we sat in the grass...the ice cream was melting so fast!
My little crawfish queen! If you have half a minute, watch this little video...Carly's a pro at prepping the crawfish.

It was killing Paul to not have won Patrick. But really, it was just not possible. We had to try it "just one more time."
I asked Paul to put Carly on his shoulders mostly so he couldn't see THIS FACE. We would still be there trying to win that thing. She got over it, though, just as soon as a lady handed her a squishy baseball advertising the Army National Guard and we started talking about how much FUN it's going to be to play in her NEW POOL this afternoon!

Germs and dirt are good for her immune system. She is going to school next year - let her body get used to other kids' yucky stuff and there will be less absenteeism. Same idea with the disappointment. Sad but true.
