House Happy!

As most of you know, we are going up to Baton Rouge on Saturday to put an offer in on a house. Our realtor (a second cousin...I think...or maybe it's first cousin once removed...) has found us a four bedroom in the same subdivision for still well under our max, so we are very excited to take a look at it. We've definitely become accustomed to being able to spread out! We are thrilled with the other house available as well, so it's just decision time!

And not a minute too soon! We are quickly becoming close personal friends with the Orkin man. First it was giant spiders, then mice, then huge scary water bugs, then hundreds (literally) of termites, then fornicating love bugs, and now there are the "gross" flying roaches invading the Shack. Carly is learning all sorts of new words, like "ih-scusting" "vermim" "cweepy" in addition to the catchall of "squishy bug." This is not counting the wasp nest on our back porch or the four, count 'em FOUR ant hills in our backyard. I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating and being too dramatic, but I am SO NOT. I do not do well with bugs. Not. At. All.

So I called the housing office - again - and told them that the Orkin man didn't come today and no way was I about to wait an entire week for him to get back out here. All the more motivation for us to get very, very excited about getting the heck out of the swamp and into our new home.

Ironically, Paul had to contact his monitor - the very same guy who was the bane of our existence all fall - to get his orders. They have been funded, which is the important part, now we just need the paperwork to line up the movers....to get us the heck out of the buggy, icky swamp and into a new house where the cabinets all close and drawer fronts don't fall off at regular intervals.

Hooray! Housing updates coming Saturday night. =)

Michelle is your first cousin once removed. She's your Great Uncle Maynard's (who is really your half Great Uncle if we get technical although I never thought of him or my other uncles in that way) first child. If THIS information doesn't make you feel "down home Loosiana" I don't know what will.
