Carly and I have managed to wrangle one of our neighbors into participating into part of our crazy Days Of Fun plan...so today, Miss Christie and Ava and Carly and I headed out to the zoo while it's still bearable. The girls had the best time today! So did the mommies - we couldn't believe how fast three hours went by!
So, first...the obligatory flamingoes-and-the-back-of-Carly's-head shot. =)
These crazy stinging caterpillars were EVERYWHERE - the blurry sign in the background says to watch out for them.
The girls had much more fun with the statue of the Komodo Dragon than they did watching the live one.
So cute! I think this is one of two or three pictures that we got of BOTH of their faces looking the same way!
In the prettiest part of the zoo...Carly was focused on her Capri Sun and Ava was focused on trying to climb into the fountain before she got caught. You can't tell here, but there is no ledge on the edge of the fountain...it makes a triangle, and she was about ten seconds from taking a bath! =)
Checking out the sea lions. They really wanted to hop in there and go swimming with the animals!

If you click on this photo to make it full-size you can see Ava's supermodel face. Carly, meanwhile, was more interested in her snacks.
In the Louisiana Swamp area...these are black bears and their bathtub...if you look at the bottom you see the drain dripping onto what looks like grass. It's not grass, it's just a thick layer of pond scum. Nice. =)
Hahahah - they were SO funny at the swamp monster! You can see Carly making monster hands and they were both screaming "eek!"
