Paul had a conference in Baton Rouge and he had the hotel room to himself, so he invited his girls up to say hi. The trip was SO fun for Carly! She got to jump on the huge bed and run circles around the suite (There was a fold-out couch with a door in-between her and us, so everyone got sleep! Yay!). It was pouring rain, but we did get a little shopping done, then met Daddy for dinner! Day 7 was "officially" trying out the new hotel and actually getting to go on Mommy and Daddy's date night. =)
Day 8!We started off EARLY, when Daddy woke up at 6:15 am to go run around the LSU lake with his Marines. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, and they had a wonderful complimentary breakfast. No stale bagels an outdated yogurt here!
What a huge difference when I turned off the flash! The morning light (coming from the Shaquille O'Neal pool and spa pavilion, no less) was so beautiful. I'm not sure WHAT Carly was going with her waffle, but she was the hugest hit with all the people eating breakfast the same time we were.

Post-breakfast chillout on Mommy's bed watching Super Why. This is the second-most cozy hotel bed EVER and Carly loved it.
This was supposed to be our adventure for yesterday: feeding the ducks!
Stocking up

This is right after the first two handfuls. It was so pretty on the lake so early in the morning.
This guy was Carly's favorite duck. He was SO beautiful and really brave. He got about three feet away from her to grab a goldfish cracker!
Then we went to return some stuff (Paul hated ALL THREE of the pairs of shoes we brought for him to pick from) and wow, would you look at that. There's a great Old Navy right across the parking lot! It was a little chilly, so Carly picked up this sparkly pink and silver hoodie on clearance for - are you ready for this? - $1.99. That's right! We also got her a great pink sweater for $3.49. THREE-FIFTY for a thirty-five dollar sweater! (Hi, that's, 90% off!)

Funny story: this morning when we had finished breakfast and were headed back up to the room, Carly was asking me about where Daddy was. I told her he was running with his friends (that lovely PT run that got us all up before sunrise) and then a few guys in black USMC t-shirts came around the corner. She saw the emblem and asked if they were Daddy's friends. I said maybe...it was kind of awkward because we were all standing in the hallway waiting for the elevator, they were sweating like crazy, and Carly was staring and pointing...fortunately, Paul came around th corner right then and Carly's little face lit up. She said, "DADDY! Did you finish you eckersize? Is these mans you friends?" pointing all around. So funny! =)
