More important than saving a ton of money on plane tickets: driving instead of flying means you can (over)pack as MUCH AS YOU WANT.
Added bonus: tackling the drive yourself means you don't have to hear about your luggage preferences from your husband, whose packing list for a week includes his toothbrush, deodorant, two pairs of socks and not much else.

Jerks. It was free ice cream cone day, too.
But Sonic was open! Here is my sweet, tired little tourist waving at the dog across the street who was barking like crazy at us.

The ice cream was SO messy...and Carly was just not sure about eating it in the bathtub.
