I just realized that I'm posting this on the wrong page, but whatever, most of you know the mouse saga anyway, with the sticky traps and the redneck Orkin man with the dip in...
So the drama came to an end last night, partially because Paul is my hero and partially because I am a genius. =)
That icky mouse ran OVER MY FOOT (ew!) and under the stove as I was cleaning up after dinner. I screamed and Paul came running in. I asked him to place the sticky traps all around the front of the oven, so the vermin couldn't escape without stepping on one. We didn't really expect it to work, because we both know there are probably a hundred different mouse-friendly ways to get out from behind there without actually crossing the floor....well...turns out when both of us work together, we're smarter than a mouse.
About an hour after we set up the icky sticky traps, I went back in the kitchen for some water and saw the little guy valiantly attempting to escape one of the sticky traps. He had managed to get two feet off and had managed to move himself, trap included, about halfway across the floor! Gross! So I screamed again, and Paul came running - again - and threw the whole mess away. I really wish there had been a more humane way to get it out of here, but maybe it was knocked unconscious when he tossed it in the big bin outside or something and hopefully it won't do too many horrible things to our family karma.
I'm also hoping that this mouse was the ONLY mouse, because I could not have scooped it up and dumped it outside myself!
Anyway, we are planning to go up to the Strawberry Festival today because it's nice and sunny today AND Daddy is home, so whenever he wakes up, we'll take off! Yay!

YAY no more mouse and YAY that Paul was there to come to your rescue!!!
yeah, the girl who couldn't flush a dead goldfish is DEFINITELY not the one for mouse traps!
Omigosh!!! I CANNOT believe that thing ran over your foot!! I would've died! Yay for brave husbands! I'm so glad you are finally rid of that pest.
Thanks so much for your sweet comments on our blog. I always enjoy reading your blogs and appreciate your comments so much. I will definitely have to try mixing more things with applesauce because I know Adam LOVES that! Thanks for that advice!
Sorry this is so long...I just don't know the best way to respond to comments. :)
