Friday morning, we took our time getting out of the house, then we went to visit Listos so Carly could show her Dad her most fun place. This week is Thanksgiving week, so there were Pilgrims and food everywhere. Carly was superstoked about the kitchen.

R-r-reach!

TOMATOES! AND CORN! AND SCHTAWBIES!

What the heck is this?

Paul sat down with her in one of those itty-bitty chairs. This is kind of what he looks like on an airplane if we're riding in coach.

Then later on that evening, we ran a few errands - Carly was really excited about this little trampoline at the Sports Authority.

Nothing says "Daddy's Back" better than socks with sandals at the sporting goods store.

And then! Because my husband is incredible, he decided to run a triathlon this morning! We loaded up the car and headed down to Mission Bay. It was so fun! We are so proud of him. =)

Carly wanted to help Paul fix up his bike.

She had seen him spinning his wheels to make sure the brakes were aligned, so she thought she'd give it a try.

More helping.

The swimming portion. Do you see Paul? He's right there! No, to the left...right there. You see the guy getting kicked in the face repeatedly and then swimming up on someone's back? Wait, no...that's him over there...wait...

Gray jersey, big grin, right above the flowers - that's him headed off to the bike portion!

Building up speed!

Carly and I hung out around the staging area on Fiesta Island so we could see Paul on each lap of the bike part and then on the running. She had her loodle-oohs (Cheerios) and she kept trying to give them to the people...and dogs...while we were waiting.

Zoom! I like this photo.

Foreground: Dave The Dog. Background: Rowdy The Dog. Carly's two new best friends.

YAY! Headed off for the running part! What a stud!

This little girl was SO sweet! Carly went over to see what she was doing and the little girl say "Hi, do you want to play with me?"

The big finish!!! He did the whole race in one hour and one minute, which is twenty minutes faster than he anticipated. We're so proud!

Carlizzle fo shizzle, whoop whoop

Paul took these. It was COLD so I had a lot of coffee and two bottles of water...

TOTALLY busted!

This is Carly's all-time favorite game. She likes to play it THE whole way home, which can get pretty annoying, honestly. It's cute at first, though!

Dee-dah!

This is the face I get when I say we're going home to have lunch.

Jimminy Crickets! He doesn't take a second to breathe, does he?! So the jet lag is working in his favor? He's awake with the roosters and ready to workout!
YAY Paul... you're my.... uh....her...... uh THEIR Hero!!! :) Really though, Great job!!!!
Are you kidding me? Ok, that is some serious motivation. I'm so going to the gym tomorrow. If he can fly forever and run a triathalon then I can certainly do 30min on th elyptical...i think :)
Ok so I see you two are match made in heaven. Neither of you can sit down for more than 30 secs!
Yeah Paul! We all are so proud, and envious, and well, let's be honest... we also don't like you a bit. One hour - really?! I'm not so sure I'd have finished in a day!
Congratulations on your triathlon and beating your expected time. Paul looks thin....
Oh, wait. That last comment was not from solisurf, it was from me, Grammy. Would be REALLY weird coming from Poppy. Grammy
