Big Adventure Monday!

For our Big Adventure today, we drove (way the heck) out to Julian to pick some apples!
Running in the orchard when we first arrived. The weather was a little windy and in the mid-sixties, so I bundled the girls up against the chill. =)
Driving the tractor. Carly is so not excited about this situation, because she didn't get the steering wheel.
Ooh! Picking apples is so fun!
We had to look pretty hard to find apples that hadn't been eaten halfway through, but Carly and Marina were really good at finding the pretty ones.
Checking for damages.
Yum. They don't use pesticides at this orchard (chemicals are yucky according to Carly), so we just rinsed the dust off and the girls dug in.

Carly still doesn't like the peel.
In search of the perfect apple.

Carly helping me load up the apples.
"It's TOO hebby, Mom!"
We had to use my crunchy granola canvas grocery bag because the orchard guy didn't show up to give us an orchard bag until right before we left. It's okay though, we got more apples this way.
Take note; this is a once-in-a-lifetime event: Marina is trying to give Carly a walking hug and Carly is telling her to "get outta my bubble."
Grouchy, but cute.
Lemme 'lone. I'm grouchy.
" But WHERE do you want me to STAND, Yiz?"
Finally! Meenatches (sandwiches)!
We stopped at the lovely and wonderful Julian Pie Company on our way down the mountain for some No-Sugar-Added apple pie. I'm making a point about the no sugar for later. It wouldn't matter either way, though, because this is the only bite Carly took.
And this is as close as Marina got to her plate.
Carly: Listen, Mom, I'm more interested in trying to pull these plants off the wall, so why don't you pack up this pie and take it home to have it for your dinner right after I go to bed?
Passed OUT
Ditto. And again with the blanket.
Okay, here's why I said the thing about the sugar. Because we had an hour to kill before picking up The Brother JJ from school, we stopped by the mall and they had these miniature Jackolantern cookies! So cute!
And apparently quite delicious!

Well.... what are you going to DO with all those apples?? I expect nothing less than an Apple Cobbler, or "No-sugar-added" Apple Pie, or Apple Cider.... nothing but the best from my little ol' Betty. :P

Looks like a fun day. Apples in Montana are all done. Have you seen the new photos on the grammy site?
