Carly's buddy Patrick had his birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese today. We remember talking with his mom about planning for his first birthday - the time is just getting away from us!

The first thing Carly ran for was this little train with Barney on it.

And then she saw this phone, so she ran right over to call Daddy at "mong guck" (aka long work) to tell him: " It Happy Birthday Patchoo cake, DADDY. The mouse and pizza okay? Bye! Later!" It was really cute!

The birthday boy himself helpfully pointing out the giant scary dinosaurs on one of the big kid games.

Carly and Marina were way into pretend playing.

Then the Skeeball! This is the unanimous favorite of the mommies. It's the least noisy game!

This is how Carly plays Skeeball. Forget that rolling business.

They have a cute little tot lot at this C.E.C. and the girls had a blast playing in it.

They would run across the playhouse and then catapult themselves down the slide. I love this photo - that looks SO fun!

Back with Barney, but not quite as excited when the train is actually moving.

Whooooaaa in the big ATV with Peace-Peace.

Then Chuck E. came out to sing to the kids. I love the girls here, warily checking him out.
In case you were wondering, they ARE wearing the same jumper, just in different fabrics. One of the superfun perks of my job is that every now and then Marina's mom asks me to pick up a few new things for the kids, so while I was at the huge sale at the Baby Gap, I got this sweet little jumper for Marina, too.

Carly was all about hugging the Chuck. None of the other kids were quite as affectionate with this big furry creature, so Carly had him pretty much all to herself.

At the end of the birthday song, which took a sweet forever to get to, Chuck E. Cheese threw a handful of tickets into the air, and since our sweet little guys were too young to get the concept of scrambling for tickets to "buy" cheap toys, they all started picking them up and trying to give them back to the mouse. Because he made a mess.

Then Michelle's mom started putting tickets in the front of Carly's jumper, and she kind of got the idea to take them for herself. I LOVE her face in this photo - like she's looking around to see if she's going to get in trouble!

This is the handiwork of Carly and Patchoo. On the other side is the place where he put his face right into the cake and just took a bite out of the side of it.
