If All Else Fails, Get Ready For A Maulin'

As part of my sister's badass job with the Forest Service, she had to take a bunch of classes about what to do if you come across wildlife while hiking...on the way up to the park, she was telling us that if you come across a black bear and it starts charging you with its ears flat and eyes rolled back, you need to just, you know, get ready for a maulin'. So we thought about that little piece of advice anytime we saw a new brand of animal out and about.
*
Like this group of bighorn sheep way up high on the moutnain. I like how the one guy in the grass is staring me down.
And some goats on our way out. The little one was so cute.
Things we saw from far, far away but didn't get pictures of:
A grizzly
And a moose. The moose we saw was skinnier, though, without the horns.
