Our Independence Day!

I've tried three times to fix this photo...sorry. Just tilt your head, it's really cute!
Before we headed out to the barbecue, Amanda (Beeda), Carly and I decided to hit the Carlsbad Outlets and take advantage of the Fourth of July sales. It was a great success! Carly wanted to be sure she was ready, so she brought her new "pack-pack" from Aunt Diane and Uncle Mace.

Amanda and I decided that we had earned a Starbucks breakfast and Carly got her second-favorite treat of all time - chocolate milk. She looks so grown up with her milk and her pack-pack!
We had a little accident while shopping at the Gap, but after a change of attire, we were ready to rock and Amanda introduced us to the wonders of a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Co. caramel apple. Carly was a sticky mess - shocking, I know - but she loved it!
Carly's eyeing the last piece of apple on the bag!
Then she kissed her favorite construction engineer, Bob the Builder.
After naps, we headed out to Sarah's house for a little BBQ fun.
We didn't get a photo, but as soon as Carly's feet hit the ground she was in the pool, fully dressed, and Paisley was right there with her. This is the "after" shot with a popsicle.
Yay!
Making faces with Mommy
I look pretty serious in this photo, but Carly's face is great! She thought it was so funny to put the popsicle stick between her toes!
Mama's girl!
Carly LOVES the pool!
The piggyback rides didn't go so well...
But the hammock was great! Sarah's backyard is beautiful and we had suuuuch a good time chillaxing back there.
I love this photo! My girls are so beautiful!
This is Uncle Dave and he was so great with all the millions of kids at the party! He swung the girls in the hammock and ran around with them for a couple of hours.
I was actually in the middle of a sentence when Kalyn said "Liz! Smile!"
I think I should have gotten a gold star or a cookie or something for my excellent listening. =)
This is Sarah's monitor and Carly could hear people talking but she could NOT figure out where the voices were coming from. SO FUNNY!!!
My buddy Peace-Peace
Cutie pie. She loved the potato salad...but who wouldn't? It had bacon and cheese and it was really, really yummy!
Belly!
Then, Uncle Dave broke out this crazy octopus sprinkler and Carly dug it. The arms go ALL OVER the place when you turn the water on. Carly figured out that you can grab one and make it go where you want.
Which is what she was trying to do here...but you can see the arms are insane!
SO EXCITED!
STILL VERY EXCITED!
Wow, we look rather worn out, don't we?
This picture was taken after the fireworks we watched from the end of the street while Carly snoozed away upstairs. These tank tops are evidence of us being incredibly nice people. We somehow picked them up at the same time - I got the red and A got the blue - and as it turned out, we each picked that color because the other person picked the other color. We didn't talk about it until much later, but we both ended up with the one we wanted. Hm - it's much better when you tell it in person, sorry. =)
