Hiking!

So this afternoon, we decided to take a hike...it's four miles up to this pretty glacial lake and then four very fast miles down! My mom did a great job of not rolling us all off the side of the scary rocky narrow mountain roads in our humongous Expedition, the weather was great and it was so beautiful!

This is the info at the start of the trail.
The above sign plus my Uncle Dennis.
Way in the background, you can see the only picture I have of my Aunt Sarah. She and my mom took a more relaxed pace up and back, so we really didn't see a whole lot of them.

Katherine, walking across a creek crossing that she helped repair a couple of weeks ago as part of her badass job with the Forest Service.
Pretty
Me, on a waterfall, about to fall off.
Can you see this is another mini-waterfall? It ran right under the rocks to the right. Katherine said if she were a hobbit, she'd live behind the waterfall. =)
K's best mountain man pose in front of a giant tree that had fallen across the path and she helped cut apart a couple of weeks ago as part of her badass job with the Forest Service. =)
I have a picture of myself just like this over the Grand Canyon. In that photo, I don't look quite so terrified.
We had some amazing views as we got closer to the top.
Like this ! Do you see, right in the middle, the archway that was formed by two dry trees? It's pretty cool and a little scary.
The lake! It was so peaceful. The worst pedicure ever and the coldest water ever. It felt so good after our long walk up the mountain!

I am really jealous that I can't be there with my little mountain girls. You look so pretty at the waterfall. I wish I was there with you guys hiking all over my favorite state. It looks awesome and I could use some Montana wilderness after being stuck in the cold of Korea, the snow of Fuji, the rain of Australia, and the jungles of Okinawa. I miss you guys a whole lot and hope you are having fun. Love you the bunchest.
