We did actually go out to the mall for corndogs and just the tiniest bit of shopping...Gymboree got their late summer line in last week (the fall lines are starting next weekend...not that it's marked on my calendar or anything...) and we did have to pick up this incredibly cute shirt. Very few items make it on my Worth Paying Retail list, but this one totally did, especially since Carly's Dad is coming home in five weeks and five days (not that I'm counting or anything...).

But before we venutured out, we were looking down the barrel of yet another day just at home, so we had to come up with something different to do. And cleaning a perfectly good slide that usually lives in the living room seemed like a great idea. And the girls had a really good time helping! I got some really cute shots of Carly, but then I realized that Marina was running around in princess panties and a t-shirt...not exactly appropriate material for the internet.

So we edited as best we could =)
Oops! Daphne (the dog) was SO funny. She stared at me the whole time I was snapping photos.
Then we decided that bubbles would make an already fun project way MORE fun!
Carly was totally into it!
I told her to smile and what does she say? "I'm WORKING, Mommy!" and then about five minutes of explanation about "cleanin' THEE slide" pronounced with the two e's.

Me: "What do you want to clean next, Marina?"

Marina: "Hmmm" (tapping the chin) "I'm not sure yet. I'll tell you in a minute."

No really, that's what she actually said!

Then it was time to rinse the slide (and Carly, apparently) off! Marina stayed safely in the dry part of the patio, but Carly's preferred place was directly under the hose.
